The Abbey 12a is an upgraded model with a new crossover, and the cabinet is now solid polyurethane for a structural integrity, reliability and surface quality that is unheard-of in the speaker business.  This ultra  low resonant, highly damped, material is ideal for loudspeaker cabinets. The woofer now mounts from the rear - there are no more visible screws.  A grill is now optional as well.

The Abbey  has a 12" High Performance 12TBX100 B&C woofer and a 12" waveguide and the same 1" compression driver as the Summa (DE250 B&C).   Not nearly as big or as expensive as the Summa, the Abbey is nonetheless a highly competent partner.

Below are shown data plots in 1/10 octave resolution.  These are for the horizontal polar response. On the left is a polar map which shows sound levels as a contour map. The vertical axis represents the angle in degrees and the horizontal axis represents frequency in hertz. These plots may seem new since almost no one in this industry would dare to show this level of detailed data.  There is a reason for that!

For interactive data, run this program and select "Abbey"
